About BOMA/Chicago
The Voice of Chicago's Office Building Industry Since 1902
The Building Owners and Managers Association of Chicago (BOMA/Chicago) is the trade association that represents Chicago’s office building industry. Membership includes 240 commercial office, institutional, and public buildings and 200 companies that provide goods and services to support their operational excellence. BOMA/Chicago members encompass approximately 80% of all rentable office space and over 98% of the rentable space in Class A downtown buildings.
BOMA/Chicago members are integral to the economic vitality of Chicago. Our industry supports over 64,000 jobs and houses more than 500,000 tenant employees across 18,000 local, national, and international businesses. Through our advocacy, we support these jobs and contribute to the economy of every Chicago neighborhood. BOMA/Chicago buildings also support Chicago schools and public services by generating $1.5 billion in annual property taxes.
Our association equips members with professional development and partnerships to overcome the challenges and maximize the opportunities of our ever-changing industry, positioning Chicago as an attractive location for investment. BOMA/Chicago members advance building and life safety codes, enhance emergency preparedness, educate against harmful tax policies, negotiate mutually beneficial labor agreements with our union partners, and improve energy efficiency and sustainability practices.
As the founding city of what is now an international federation of BOMA associations, BOMA/Chicago has served as the voice of Chicago's office building community since 1902 and remains committed to that service for many years to come.
Leadership
The leadership of BOMA/Chicago is comprised of elected officers and a Board of Directors who serve the Association as volunteers. BOMA/Chicago also has a professional staff.
